RGNT Motorcycles presents updated light EV model line-up in Paris

The future of mobility is not what it used to be. It’s more exciting than ever, and Swedish EV-motorcycle manufacturer RGNT invites you to be part of it. In Paris, on the 14th of April, RGNT will present its new 2022 model line-up. The existing models Classic and Scrambler have been updated and upgraded, delivering even more future-facing tech, hassle-free ownership, and refined style.

RGNT CEO Måns Danielsson is looking forward to the bike reveal in Paris:

“At RGNT we believe really great design must be both functional and beautiful, whilst stirring up emotion. We are proud to be launching our 2.0 line-up of light and nimble electric motorcycles in one of the most electrifying cities in the world: Paris. In our flagship store, 112 Boulevard Voltaire, 75011 Paris, we will be presenting our completely updated take on our Classic and Scrambler models. Both models have matured in design, and true to our self-confident design vision, both models now have even more in-house developed components”

Reimagined instrument cluster

The Human Machine Interface (instrument cluster) is completely redesigned and reprogrammed, offering riders a more enhanced connection with the bike, besides more personalization options. The new thumb-operated joystick makes it easier to safely interact with the cluster while riding, giving riders more options to enhance their riding experience. In short: the new cluster bridges the gap between rider and machine.

Enhanced ownership

The RGNT engineering team has worked hard to make RGNT ownership even more effortless, more fun and more rewarding. At the core of these efforts sits the all-new RGNT App. Through the app riders can now get real-time updates on charging status and remaining charging time, battery range and bike location. The bike itself receives regular over-air updates, further reducing the effort riders need to put into keeping the bike updated and serviced.

RGNT App philosophy

The design philosophy behind the app is simple: ‘ultimate ease of ownership’. The app guides riders in their journey towards ultimate bike maintenance. An important part of this is treating the battery in such a way that it extends its life cycle, besides notifying when predictive maintenance is needed.

Upgraded performance

The 2.0 bikes offer even more punch. Improvements on the drivetrain and efficiency lead to less generated heat, meaning less wasted energy. The result? More energy available for performance. Nominal power output is upgraded from 8.5 to 9,5 kWh.

New ride mode

To the existing ride modes Power and Range, RGNT has added a new Boost mode. In Boost mode, the bike temporarily offers a peak performance of +20 kW at the twist of the throttle. Next to this we also introduce one pedal drive. Twist the throttle the other way and it will brake.

New front

The front of both models is completely updated, with a new triple tree, light holders, cockpit, indicators, and lighting. The new design gives the bikes an even more distinctive look, whilst upgrading handling and steering performance.

Tank colors

The available color palette for the tanks is updated, with a chrome/black, and for the Scrambler the chrome/red as striking colors. Following the RGNT design philosophy, the tanks are shaped out of sheet metal for durability and style.

Front suspension

The suspension system is produced by the Italian craftsmen at Paioli. They own the rights to build the classic 60s Ceriani front forks, which combine classic elegance with modern-day performance. Every single aluminum fork is hand polished in Italy.

Handcrafted seats

The RGNT styling team understands that motorcycle seats add a natural, emotional touch to every beautiful bike. Therefore, they collaborated with one of Sweden’s oldest leather suppliers, Tjärnsjö (founded 1873) to create premium, vegetable-tanned leather seats.

Customization options

The team has also worked with Hedon, the leading luxury British manufacturer of handcrafted helmets, and with Malle London to create a series of stylish leather bags and panniers. Later this year RGNT will be offering even more new customization accessories, like tank pads, a headlight grill, and more.

Premium rims

The rims on the RGNT Classic are chrome, with stainless steel spokes. They are laced by hand by Swedish craftsmen. The Scrambler is fitted with rims by Japanese powerhouse Excel, the company that has been crafting premium (championship-winning) rims since 1932.

Triangle airbox area

Perhaps the biggest change to the 2022 bikes is the triangle airbox area. It now shows even more maturity and muscle. The new triangle has a luggage compartment (moved from the tank) where riders can also charge their smartphone.

Combined Braking System

For ultimate rider safety, RGNT has installed an advanced Combined Braking System. Engaging one of the brake levers applies both the front and rear brakes. Through the right-hand lever, extra power can be applied to the front brakes for even more direct stopping power.

Tech updates

Both bikes now have keyless ride and steering lock, so riders can simply jump on, push the button, and ride. The new onboard charger cuts 100% charging time to half and the bike can be charged at every socket and charge station (type 2). The instrument panel is completely reimagined, whilst a new speaker for slow-speed sounds creates more pedestrian safety.

Pricing

As per April 14, 2022, the RGNT No.1 Classic SEL (Sport Extended Limited) is available from € 14.495. The RGNT No.1 Scrambler SEL (Sport Extended Limited) starts at € 15.495. The production of the No. 1 SEL is limited to 50 bikes in total.

About RGNT Motorcycles

Founded in 2019 in Sweden, we aim high. Wildly ambitious, yet underpinned by a strong vision and in-depth know-how, we plan to silence boulevards, backroads, and beaches globally by quickly expanding in a fast-growing bike-tech market. In shaping our electric future, we honor the great design achievements of the past. Our passion for iconic motorcycle design drives us to put high-end, timeless quality left, right, and center in all our designs. Simply look at our bikes to see what we mean. Bound to disrupt the motorcycle realm, our designs are high-quality, timeless, and packed with game-changing innovation. Our quickly expanding family of motorcycles currently consists of the Classic and the Scrambler.

No.1 Classic SEL

An ode to classic design – from the days when machines were built to last. Hand-built, without taking shortcuts or compromising on the good stuff. Premium components, groundbreaking tech, and hand-crafted details add up to an exclusive, state-of-the-art motorcycle.

No.1 Scrambler SEL

Holding true to the original 1960’s style, it’s built to swiftly, safely, and silently steer you through whatever the world throws at you. In our Scrambler form and function play a tie-game. The winner is the rider, enjoying forward-looking style, design and tech in a first-in-class package.

Inspired by the new and improved, quieter metropolis of Beijing in 2018, serial entrepreneur Jonathan Åstrom explored a desire to silence city streets in the west. As a long-time motorcycle rider, he dreamt of a two-wheeler that would ignite the same freedom of traditional bikes, but with the innovation of today’s most progressive cars. After shocking the market with a beautiful prototype, our founder and CEO launched RGNT in 2020 with the ambition for urban commuters to swap cars for electric motorcycles.

Since then every bike has been and will continue to be built by hand. Our designs resemble an era when bikes were robust, efficient, and manufactured with high-quality materials. At RGNT we offer a classic look that can stand the test of time for generations to come. And while we remember the past aesthetically, we look ahead technologically. By working with innovative solutions, we’ve created an entire digital ecosystem for our riders; providing cloud connectivity, a user-friendly interface, a HMI touch display, and zero maintenance.
